Note the transparency of the wine glass over the headline in the image at left, attained through precise layer editing in Photoshop.
The image and headline for "Gum Control" were both my idea, and a highly successful collaboration with the photographer (and a game ad sales rep).
In the "Swept Away" image, I loved Photoshopping the logo headed over Niagara Falls.
In addition to designing the cover at right, I also took the central photograph, taken at Buffalo's Canalside Park.
In each of these spreads, I was responsible not just for the layout design, but for the creation of the infographics as well.
This spread accompanied a story about the Gronkowski clan of Western New York, all successful sport entrepreneurs — including the most famous member, former NFL tight end Rob (second from right). I not only designed the layout, but also art-directed the photoshoot, which took place in the middle of a glitzy fundraiser in downtown Buffalo. THAT was an experience, let me tell you. (If you're lucky, someday I'll show you the selfie I took with Rob.)
